Homemade Chicken Dog Treats

5.0
5.0 out of 5 stars (based on 1 review)
Homemade Chicken Dog Treats are made with only 4 simple ingredients and get their flavor from a jar of chicken baby food.
Pro Tip
These treats will be soft after baking and can be left out overnight to harden. For the crunchiest treats, place baked treats in a dehydrator for 6-8 hours before adding the carob icing. The carob icing is optional but adds another layer of flavor and natural sweetness.
Substitutions
These treats are flavored with chicken baby food but can easily be substituted with the beef or turkey varieties.
Special Ingredients
Carob powder appears similar to cocoa powder but does not contain any caffeine or theobromine, making it safe for dogs. It can be found online or at health food stores. Carob can NOT be substituted with cocoa or cacao powder.

The dough can also be shaped into bite-sized treats for smaller dogs. These were made using a Linzer cookie cutter set.

Zoey always knows when these are in the oven and has a very hard time waiting the 15 minutes for them to finish.
